Right now the Kings are mediocre at best. I’m sure your team could make a few improvements like getting a player better than Dustin Penner or an extra Dman now that Johnson is gone.

That’s how most rentals work. Pay big for a small piece that hopefully makes your team that much better for your Cup run. Although I have to agree with you. I wouldn’t trade a young backup goalie that could be worth a lot more in the future for a washed up backup goalie.

That said, he’s…less of a no brainer depending on the asking price. You look at what players are going for and you sure would hate to pay a fortune for a mere rental to round out your lineup. If he could be had for a non-1st round draft pick and a minor prospect I’d make that deal but I doubt this is the case.

No offense, but with the exception of Brown and Bernier, the above list of players essentially constitutes a “junk store” sale ! In fact, you can just open the phone book and randomly select 10 names and you’ll probably get about the same in potential value ! Regardless, Brown and Bernier are going nowhere and I’m frankly disappointed that Yerdon would even include their names here, as I’m not sure what he’s getting at ? We Kings now have everything we need in-order to cut down Detroit and Vancouver and so we have no interest in selling & buying. But even if we did, we sure as hell wouldn’t be going to a “junk store” sale like this !

-There’s no reason to move Nash before the summer.

-NY doesn’t seem to want to move Nabokov.

-The Brown thing is just hot air and always was.

-LA won’t move Bernier until they’ve locked up Quick (otherwise he’d have been part of the Columbus deal).

-Dallas and Colorado aren’t going to be sellers.

That said, I’d love to see Vancouver pick up Bryan Allen.
