"This attitude is just wildly unrealistic" ...

That may be so friend, but for the longest time that was indeed the status quo. For years, the Canadiens would simply ship off once-talented and tired veterans to some new and struggling franchise like LA, Oakland or Minnesota ... and in return they'd "demand and receive" the equivalent of their "first born" ! This gig worked brilliantly for them for years and it was the core underlying reason for their dominance during the period of 1968-1979. Well that's now long gone and thank God for that ! The problem however is that Montreal fans today are caught up in a sort of time warp, where they still think that it's their "right" to be on top, etc.

"Canadiens fans are furious with how poorly the team is playing"

See, this is the problem with Montreal. There's this attitude among the fans that it's somehow utterly unacceptable for them to ever have a bad season. This attitude is just wildly unrealistic however. There's no easy fix for simply having a crappy team and that's what Montreal has. They need to rebuild and that takes a few seasons. But no. Because of this unrealistic attitude they perpetually make bad moves. They're perpetually looking for a quick fix. They sign and acquire players based on what they HOPE they'll produce instead of what is most likely because that's the only way they can theoretically achieve their unrealistic goals. In the end though it just leaves them saddled with more and more bad contracts.

It's not going to happen ? ...

Good ! ... because I'll tell you another thing that's not going to happen ... me drinking your stupid Molson Canadian dishwater ! I have absolutely no sympathy for either the Montreal Canadiens as a team, their fans, or this parasitic "vice" promoting owner ! For decades, this organization got away with bloody murder, controlling the league like it was their own private fiefdom, which it essentially was ... and their fans have proven time and time again, that they are some of the the most "hostile and venomous" to be found anywhere ... even the car-flippers and arsonists here in Vancouver are afraid of them ! So sorry Montreal ... fire your GM, fire your coach, fire the stick boy ... we simply don't care, one way or the other ...

ps: I do sympathize with the Leaf's fans though ... they've had it rough for years now, yet they remain well-behaved and as supportive as ever ... I do wish that good things come to those people soon ...
