atwatercrushesokoye – I concur with your sentiments. In fact, if you take it a step further, then an argument can be made that this entire “sports analysis” business is a reflection of our “connectivity mad” society at large. Everything is being pushed at an “exponential” rate of acceleration which is simply not sustainable … no different than a car which continues to accelerate down a steep and treacherous mountain road. At some point “something” will give and then the entire exercise becomes utterly redundant.

The 10 hours of coverage is embarrassing, generally there’s very minor trades until about 1 eastern, at that point it picks up a little bit, but that’s 5 full hours where the “experts” need to fill time, and you can only kill so much time talking about a 4th line centre being dealt for a player that was chosen in the 7th round 4 years ago.

I don’t need Dave Hodge and the “Reporters” (how Steve Simmons is considered anything more than a joke is beyond me!) to give their takes on the lighter side of things. Nor do I need Bob McKenzie making some point only to quit in the middle to answer his Blackberry (you know it’s the producer calling) and they really don’t need two full panels of “experts” including such lauded hockey names as Jamie McClennan and Aaron Ward.

TSN should start a show at 130 eastern and have it run for a couple of hours, that’s all that’s needed…and even that’s stretching it!

yeah, this trade deadline is going to be a snoozer for the most part. the hockey media kind of backed themselves into a corner by over hyping something thats looking to be extremely anti-climactic.

TSN’s bloated hockey department has become ridiculous (sportsnet is almost as bad) now that they’ve got their two “insiders” they’re trying to out scoop each other. They’ve been advertising for deadline day for over a month now, and have to figure out a way to fill 10 hours (not joking) of Tradecentre 2012 on Monday. The Dustin Brown trade rumours that McKenzie just created should give them 45 minutes of filler.
