Apparently you missed it when he said he would be interested in signing with the Wild. They only have 2 players signed longer than 2 years (Koivu, who’s pretty good and Brodziak who is decent). They have all this high end prospects coming either next year or the year after. They are set up to be Cup contenders within 2 years. If the Wild wanted, they can get both Parise and Weber or Suter.

The Post also reported the Devils might trade Parise for draft picks to trim payroll. They name unnamed sources constantly. The Post is like the ECKLAND of journalism.

While currently true, there is also a lot of young talent in the pipeline that might make it more attractive to build something long term.
At the end of the day though there will be no shortage of suitors for his services.

Honestly, I’d sooner see him going to St. Louis. They’re a strong competitor with the room to fit him at the price he’ll likely be asking. They like two-way players, they need high-scoring forwards and Parise also has the advantage of being a great passer – which would go a long way to helping guys like Backes and Stewart (if he’s still around) score more frequently.

You know, that or Detroit. What’s a speculation thread without “He’d look good in the Winged Wheel,” am I right?

Yeah, I’m a Wild fan but I dont see Parise coming here. Guys like that want to win and the Wild are far from that. Being from Minnesota doesnt mean anything.

Never understood why fans of Minnesota think the Wild would even be considered by Parise, sure he’s from there – but did you miss the part where Parise said he wants to WIN?

Why would he go from a playoff contender to a team on the outside looking in?
