Problem is Jets are still a bit too inconsistent to make any calls against any so-called “easy” teams. Yes, their odds of winning are in their favor at home but none of these games are freebies at this point. However, I will say that Wheeler, Kane, Big Buff, and Little have been outstanding the last few games, and even Ladd seems to have gotten himself together. They’re playing really well and that more than anything bodes well for the next little while.

I have to say Bryz didnt look horrible but didnt look wonderful last night. I am glad to see there is some help coming in front of him – easiest way to improve putting is hit it closer to the hole, easiest way to prevent team from scoring is prevent team from shooting. There was more “porch clearing” last night then there had been in a while and we need that.
All that being said, there were some amazing saves last night – ones I was extremely impressed by and congratulated the goalie for making. Wasnt our goalie, but hey they were still good.

Problem is, Holmgren was not only stupid enough to give Bryzgalov an NTC, but an NMC as well – he can’t even bury his folly in the minors. Bryz’ cap hit is absolutely impossible to move anywhere unless he wants it moved and some other GM is even stupider than Holmgren. So, what’s the plan? Buy bargain-bin backups every couple of years for the next decade? Pray to God that another round of amnesty-free buyouts is included in the new CBA to save Homer from himself? Seriously, other than “Run Mr. Universe over with a semi,” you don’t really have a lot of options at this point.

they might legitimately need to go trade for a goaltender. i dont think they can justify losing in the playoffs yet again because of goaltending. it doesnt matter how much bryzgalov makes – if he’s not going to be the guy (and at least this year, he’s not going to be the guy) then they need to do something. bobrovsky has actually been worse than bryz at times but he still has plenty of trade value because he is young and was so brilliant last year. they HAVE to make a move between now and the deadline, that’s what it’s coming down to.

Looks like the only major challenges in the next ten games are St. Louis and Vancouver. Don’t get me wrong, everyone’s close enough these days that any of these games could go either way, but let’s be realistic: Tampa, though streaking, is one of the bottom teams in the League. Edmonton’s all but a free win. They’re only slightly less comically inept than Columbus. Florida’s struggling mightily as the year wears on, Buffalo’s a wreck and Dallas, Calgary and Washington are all teams that the Jets can probably beat if they work hard enough at it. Dallas is missing their top player, Calgary’s missing how many centres now? And Washington’s just straight-up lazy these days. And then there’s Carolina. Slightly better than Edmonton.

Yeah. This is a fantastic stretch. They could easily win the majority of these games if they put everything on the line and play at their best. This is the golden window of opportunity that any team with a bottom-four seed would kill for. They can overtake a lot of opponents here.

The Jets can do some damage with that 10 game road trip. Love the troll comment – Winnipeggers loooovvveee to bag on the top guy or the guy who thinks Siberian Huskies have “beautiful eyes, like woman”. Poor bastards dog is missing out on our city’s many dog parks where he could troll for hot chicks, I mean blue eyed huskies
