I have to agree with the chanting. Rangers fans have seen Sather make horrible moves for big names in the past and most of them failed. Bobby Holik, Eric Lindros, Scott Gomez, Chris Drury, Wade Redden, and Pavel Bure. A few of the trades and big name signings have worked out like Jagr and Gaborik and so far Brad Richards hasn’t been too bad. Great team this year so they shouldn’t trade away four big pieces for Nash.

They also chanted “can you hear us” at Bruce Boudreau last year in the playoffs…they were up 3-0 when they started chanting, but lost 4-3 in OT. Some people never learn.

I don’t know whether I should laugh hysterically, or throw my computer across the room and then punch myself in the face after reading this comment in which you actually believe that what you do is talk hockey.. Even if Mr. Mojo Risin’ is playing the part of every team’s GM, everything he has just said here about a Nash-to-Rangers trade not happening makes complete sense in terms of hockey talk and I highly doubt the CBJ’s would ever agree to this rumored trade with Dubinsky as the centerpiece for Nash.

Cliff Lee – the guy who was a free agent and decided to go back to a team he previously played for….

How does that compare to this situation? Nash is under contract for the foreseeable future, meaning he would obviously have to be traded.
I supposed youre saying he will not waive the no-trade clause to join one of the best teams in hockey? Because we booed him when he scored a last-minute goal against us? That makes a ton of sense…

Kinda like the Canucks topping the “most overrated team” poll. You don’t get that kind of reaction without being in a higher position in the league, and Nash would be welcome on any team. I’m actually surprised the Bruins didn’t rank up there considering their play in the last 6 games (4 losses – 3 of which were shutouts – and 2 S/O wins).

The Rangers don’t have the pieces to make this deal. Dubinsky is above average at best and their first round pick will basically be a second rounder. I know Kreider is supposed to be good but one “supposed to be good” prospect won’t be enough for CBJ to deal Nash.

That’s alright, Rick. You are in very good company. They chant at another player even when he is not in the building and he hasn’t played in about 25 years. They chant his name because of a hit he made on one of their players 33 years ago that even their own coach said was absolutely clean. If NYR fans do to you what the do to The Captain Denis Potvin, you are in VERY GOOD company indeed!!!
