That's your response....really?? I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt since I assume that you're multi-tasking and your brain can't think and write at the same time and are therefore incapable of coming up with something a little more clever. However, if you're not male- and mrskunitiz... seems like a woman's name- then you've just given my comment further credibility. So thanks then for helping me make my point

My thoughts exactly! On top of that if they lose Bob what goalie are they hoping to get to push them towards the Cup, AND they already have a good group of scorers (they wouldn't be where they are now w/out them)- they don't need another one for the price and his $7.8mil contact!

At this point Scrivens probably has more value than Reimer. If Kulemin, Kadri, Schenn, Scrivens, and a first rounder get us Nash that's fine. The pick won't be a high one and Kadri will never play to his full potential in Toronto.

Only problem is that the Leafs have their own Murphy's Law kind of thing that applies to trades. It states that Kulemin will return to his 30-goal form and Schenn will be decent again after a trade, but I think I can live with that if we get Nash.

If Nash really wanted to play in Toronto don't you think it would have happened by now? He had the chance as a free agent 2 years ago, but chose instead to extend in Columbus. Add to that the 2 goalies that Toronto has...neither one would attract much attention from any other NHL team, both are mediocre at best, not exactly what you'd build your team around.

Now with that being said, whichever team actually gives up the farm to get Nash is going to be making one of the worst trades in the NHL in recent years. IMO Nash is by far one of the most overrated players around. He's a one trick pony, he scores goals, but he doesn't set anything up and has very little interest in playing defense. Look at his stats, he's in his 9th season, he's gotten over 40 goals twice (02-03, 08-09) and over 35 goals 3 times (02-03, 07-08, 08-09) but usually puts up in the low 30's for goals. He's only ever gotten more than 70 points once (08-09) in his NHL career. How is he considered a franchise player?!

The NHL cap is expected to go down next year, why would any team want to spend $7.8 million per year (in cap room) on a player who's nothing more than top 20?

Perfectly opportunity to get out of this Kessel deal. Kessel for Nash, a good local boy that may take some real pride in playing near where he grew up. Throw in a goalie, it really doesn't matter which one, I've watched Scrivens from the Marlies and he's actually one of those goalies that try's to save a shot rather than hope he gets hit!

People keep saying Philly is a good fit because they can offer Bobrofsky (sp?) . Just because they have a goalie to give away doesn't mean that anyone else wants him! If Columbus is indeed looking for a goalie in the deal I'm sure that it would have to be a goaltender that is an upgrade from whatever they have.

From CLB's standpoint, PHI is actually a much better fit. They can offer a top young player (Couturier or Schenn) and a young goalie (Bobrovsky) while neither TOR or NYR can. They may not want to part with those player, but that's another issue. In the end, CLB must approach this with the singleminded attitude that they get what they want or they keep Nash and rebuild around him. Doubt deal gets done before this summer, if at all.

In my opinion, Nash isn't worth the asking price. NYR + Philly would be dumb to give up so much for him. Toronto could take the blow, but I dont think they will. i think CBJ's best bet is to try for a team that has 2+ goalies and will be willing to deal one off. Boston (doubt it, but Thomas could be good trade bait) and St. Louis (who is seamingly swimming in goalies) could be possibilities. Nash is a good talent, the asking price is just too high.
