As an Avalanche fan, Bertuzzi’s hit on Moore was as every bit as uncalled for, dangerous, stupid, etc. as Claude Lemeiux’s hit on Kris Draper back in 1996. Luckily, Claude’s hit didn’t end Draper’s career. If Bertuzzi had ended Moore’s career on a clean hit, or Moore had at least seen him coming, that would be one thing; but Bertuzzi and the Canucks (Crawford) have it coming.

Moore actually fought in the first period of that game (where Bertuzzi took the cheap-shot). And the matter should have been settled.

when you look at the play, there is NO way you can argue that Bertuzzi was intending to break his neck…COME ON… there are dirtier plays than that on a REGULAR BASIS. The outrage is because of the unfortunate outcome…I’m not saying Moore deserved a broken neck and sever concussion. I am saying he had the punch coming to him.

Had it coming? Are you serious? Steve Moore’s career was ended and he had it coming? Nobody has that coming, ever. As much as I hate Buttuzzi I don’t wish injury on him. I wish the NHL would have thrown him out of the league.

Moore’s hit on Naslund wasn’t that freakin bad and certainly didn’t warrent the classless, blindside attack from Buttuzzi. And, oh yeah, Moore didn’t come close to ending Naslund’s career.

Regardless, no matter what you think of Moore’s hit, there is no possible, ethical defense for what Buttuzzi did.

Steve Moore is a coward. He gave a cheap shot to Marcus Naslund and had to know there would be payback. Bertuzzi gave him every opportunity to drop the gloves and settle the matter, but Moore chose to skate away as if he didn’t owe anything to the Canucks. This is what happens when you take liberties on a captain and refuse to own up to it. (And yes I know he fought Matt Cooke, but that simply wasn’t enough punishment for his crime)

and for the record, younger brother Dominic Moore is a dirtbag too.
