The St Louis Blues have similar dominance at home this season. They have the same amount of home wins (26), only 1 more regulation home loss than the Wings and, since a Dec 3rd loss to the Blackhawks, are 18-0-3 at home. That no regulation loss streak will be tested this Wed vs Boston and then on Mar 4th vs the Blackhawks (who gave them their last regulation home loss).

I am in no way trying to downplay the dominance of Detroit, their streak, and their incredibly successful history over the past years. However the only thing that’s making me write them as the dominant Western team is their performance in the playoffs over the past few years. It’s been quite simply uninspired, and they look gased come second or third round. Their team has not changed enough for me to shed that opinion.
