@hobbie – yes… I mean no disrespect to Caps fans by my comments.

I just struggle with the whole ‘product’ called Ovechkin right now.

It’s nothing but air. Washington Caps fan deserve a Stanley Cup, period!!!

and one last thing. OV is cought up in the rock star life and is enjoying the fame way to much. but as a die hard caps fan i cant bring my self to say that the caps are better off with out the biggest face in DC. he does his job and like i said he just really needs a wake up call like TONS of other athletes have done in the past before they got back to where they need to be atleast in the team work department (getting back to focusing on his team/game) but he helped bring this team out of a big big big slump…along with green, backstrom, theodore, fleichman, schults, bruce boudreau etc. all of which are either no longer with the caps or injured for a big part of the season. when the caps where healthy at the begining of the season they were the last team to lose a game!!! (7-0) maybe we shouldnt be like the cults and put all of our concerns on one player. instead work on the team because OV is not the only problem.

OV needs to know that the caps mean business with him and that he needs to get back to the old attitude he use to have… It may not be his best season but he still puts up numbers… I feel like if they threatened him with a spot on the bench or a contract things may change… If he doesn’t like it and would rather another team take him… Then he’s their problem

Semin may have to go ever sence he came here he has had pretty much the same attitude wether he was good or not. OV pretty much played a leader when clark was still here and OV Was at the peak of his career. Yes it’s true he is stuck in a rock star life right now and gets fat in the off season… But I feel like he could just use a good wake call like any other athlete and of he was traded that could be the call and then all the sudden he’s good again but or a different team

Agree.. Semin needs to go. I’ve been saying that since the lose to Montreal three/two years ago. He is not a playoff producer… Hunter should bench Ovi like he did Knubs… But then again we cap fans know that will not change a thing..if anything make it worse.. Points points points that’s what they need, win or lose, get something..i don’t know the stat but I’m sure the Caps have the least O.T. points in the league and man do they add up in the long run…stop the drama get back to hockey.

i don’t think trading him would be the answer. he’s already got the contract and the endorsement deals, so what does he care? Professional sports is the only “job” in the world where you can slack off and not care and still have a job at the end of the day and a guaranteed pay check. which makes him a boarder line con artist!

i couldn’t agree more.. Also as along time Caps fan, i was really happy to hear about fellow ex-cap and Russian Olie call him out, I thought with a snow balls chance in hell that it would light a fire underneath Ovi’s ass but then again Brooks Laich, called him and Semin out at the end of last season and it has not made a difference.. But with this news today of Ovi being a prick and not heeding Olie’s advice so far, by dismissing the comments. I’m extremely more concerned about tmr night and the rest of the season. Not that i wasn’t already.. There is more drama in the Caps locker room and in the office then a MTV real world episode/season and i know pretty much every in D.C and Baltimore are tired of it.We all know McPhee needs to do something big before trade deadline, but i really really hate to say this, it would be the best thing for the fans and the franchise if they didn’t make the playoffs and as many others have said blow the team up and rebuild.. We’ll see what happens tmr Cap fans maybe our luck will turn…….HA

ovechkin 1 and malkin going number 2 to the pens seems to have tipped in the favor of the pens lately but you cant blame them for the decision, #8 sold the tickets they needed to sell.

if mcphee was smart he would put semin on the trade block now and try to get some value for him before just letting him go in free agency. somebody would be willing to risk semin for a playoff run this year and caps could prob get some good prospects or draft picks for him. they should straight up trade semin for bruce boudreau…lol

I’d be pretty surprised if Hunter got canned after part of one season, but the results do speak for themselves. He’d be expected to produce some results when next season arrives, for sure.

Semin is a goner, no matter what- I’d hope McPhee would be smart enough to give up on him at this point. Perhaps Kuznetsov could get brought up to help next year, I don’t know.

At the end of the day, something has to change. And if it isn’t a major roster shakeup, what else really is there at this point? Coach fired? Tried it. Different lines? Tried it. Different team style? Disaster.

I can’t believe I am saying this but maybe he does need to be traded. You can acted like a fool when you are on top of the world. But you’re not now and I also see the Willie look. Why couldn’t Ovi say that he would work harder in response to the comments? Because he really thinks he is the King of DC. Green and Backstrom may be able to help hide this debacle if they get back in time to help make the playoffs. If the playoffs don’t happen for the Caps Dale Hunter will be gone along with Semin. They’ll put it on another Russians shoulders.

As a longtime Caps fan, this kind of crap is wearing thin. His production is way down. He gets fat during the offseason, takes forever to get it started when the season does start and no longer produces at a superstar level. I’m not sure how much more of it I can take. The Penguins get Crosby and Malkin, we get Ovechkin and Semin. Bulls get Rose, we get Wall. Cowboys get Romo, we get Rex. Ugh. Fingers crossed for the Nats.

What’s to show for his star status?
How many Cups have the Caps won?

We regularly hear excuses from him and the Caps about how everyones wrong about O… and all he does is fail to produce.
