I agree with you on many points. First, MIller is a phenomenal goalie that is just having a bad season. He is also way better than Ray Emery. The change of scenery could do him some good but honestly would you risk a young player with huge upside like Patrick Kane on the chance that he will play better in chicago as he gets even older?

Marcy Darcy and Ruff have been together since 97 and have done practically nothing, Pegula has to stop being a star stuck kid and get his head out of his azz and at least fire Marcy Darcy or both after this season since the playoffs are out of reach now. Bring in Dudley as GM and start to rip apart this team during the summer. Trade the UFA’s this year and get what you can for them. Personally I would do what it takes to trade Myers to Nashville for Weber, Myers is nothing but a p***y. As for Kane for Miller, no way we need another smallish center who in time would be a cancer in the dressing room. If your going to trade Miller then go to Anaheim and get a Getzlaf or Ryan…add Roy or Stafford plus a draft pick or prospect and get Hiller also.

Everyone knows Miller is having his worst season as a pro. IF Chicago was truly interested, it’s not based on this season’s performance. Miller is a FAR better goalie than Emery regardless of this season. The change of scenery could be good for him THIS season and then for next season and beyond, you have a top-tier goalie. This trade won’t happen anyway.

Lets compare Ray Emery to Ryan Miller. THIS SEASON. I know MIller’s History and don’t want to argue about it. Most of these trade rumors are around the fact that if the blackhawks want to win NOW they need to get a new goalie.

Ryan MIller GGA – 2.75 31st
Ray Emery GGA – 2.82 35th

Ryan MIller SVPCT – 9.09 30th
Ray Emery SVPCT – 8.99 42nd

There is NO WAY I would give up Patrick Kane for a goalie that is performing this season barely better than the one we already have.

@rarelyshaves While the defense and toughness are an issue, if you don’t think this team needs a giant upgrade in net your living in a dream world. During the current slide the Hawks have given up at least three goals in EVERY SINGLE GAME. Including the loss to Nashville, where the Preds only had 18 shots. The defense and overall toughness definitely need to improve, but its the NHL and there has to be games your goalie wins for the team.

Second trade miller for kane!

Kane would be mad to play for a bad sabres team & then stay til end of season then go to a contender.

Miller would win cup in chicago & then go to LA or Anaheim next season!

its just such a bad move for chicago. theres no reason to think miller will save this team right now, the primary problem is defense and toughness.

if bowman cant see this then thats a huge issue

No doubt, especially if you can get back Emery to help shoulder the load with Enroth. Perhaps they look elsewhere for an interim goalie, but unless they have serious doubts about Kane, he’d be a help to them for sure.

Let me start off by saying I am Darcy Regier supporter, maybe one of the few. But if this trade really is available to Buffalo and Darcy doesn’t pull the trigger, everything the critics have been saying about him would be true. This team can’t score and you have the chance to get a 23 year old superstar forward for a goalie who is running short on prime years, you have to pull the trigger.
