We won’t have Holmer next year more than likely… and the team did pretty well with Hull and Holmer on the roster in the past… Nash is similar to Hull’s game… big strong guy with a great shot…

the pens have plenty to offer, CBJ wants a goalie – the pens could part with Brent Johnson , also Paul Martin, Tyler Kennedy, Richard Park, eric tangradi, matt niskanen, and draft picks are all movable assets – ray Shero could make it happen if he really wanted to

The most obvious match would seem to be FLA. They have the best available goalie prospect in Markstrom, a ton of assets and cap space, and a GM who loves a big deal. Only question is whether Nash would agree.

I am a fan ,but the Wild have a ton of goaltending and I would not give Grandlund up for many people but I would for Nash. Not sure if he would come to Minnesota but with a healthy Bouchard, Latendresse, and the others in place he could make a huge difference and play in one of the best hockey markets in the league to a packed house each night. I think the Wild have the pieces not sure if he would come here though.

This is not an unreasonable scenario. Boston either has to buckle down and manage the Rask-Thomas situation for another year+ or resolve it and go for a second cup now. Either way is viable, and there’s no team that needs a starter in nets as much as COL. If Boston lumped Krejci and prospects in there I could see this happening. Bruins have to know that they need some boost before the deadline to feel confident against Rangers, Wings, Pens, etc.

I could see Boston if they trade Rask, a top prospect and possibly a first rounder, if the Bruins are willing to give up goalie depth to have another great shot at winning the cup.

No, just no. Don’t get me wrong I love this guy but we have little to offer and little cap room to work with as is. The only real assets we have are Despres and Tangradi and neither would bring in talent like this.

I can’t wait for the deadline to roll by with no major trades exchanged cuz the asking price is too high on all these players and no one is willing to pony up. My bet is it’s all gonna be 3rd-4th liners and AHL players moving around and no marquee players. Any takers?

He’s not going anywhere that isn’t a) a top-flight contender, b) swimming in cap space, and c) loaded with prospects, particularly in net.

That leaves: Boston and Nashville, and maybe Vancouver or LA if they can clear cap space. Detroit too I guess if they can talk Howson into it. I really don’t see them trading Nash away without getting a blue-chip goalie, and a very good young forward or d-man.

No. Come on now. Not to knock the Stars but lets let him have a chance to play in a real hockey market. He’s the type of player who has earned and deserves it. I doubt he waives his clause for the Stars anyway.

That would be really sad if they do. I know a CBJ fan and he really wouldn’t have any reason to spend money on them if they trade away CBJ’s only superstar. The All star game got a lot less exciting next year knowing one the the Captains will be RJ Umberger.

But if they are going to be ridiculous and trade him I hope the Bruins do get him. It would be a nice replacement to the injured Horton. It would cost the Bruins Dougie Hamilton which would at least give CBJ the future superstar they will desperately need in return.
