i strongly disagree. He gets players well below there market. You think bergeron would only get 5m on the open market? especially after the season he’s having. He evaluates and pays a player before he breaks out. Boychuck is a good solid player who gets better every year. keep the core together and let the kids come up.

a little maybe, but he should get you 60+ pts. what’s he worth 4.5-4.75 add is playoff performance and he’s right there. Take a look at the other guys making 5m a year; he’s right there. Plekanec, Gionta, Kesler, Pominville- And yes Perry and Getzlaf are but so are Horcoff and Rolston.

Ehh I feel like he overpaid a little for Krejci. Granted they paid for his talents when the games really matter, like the playoffs where the kid is incredible, but he coasts way too much in the regular season for my tastes.

I don’t agree. At all. Just curious who he overpaid for? Are you referring to Thomas? Seems like we were wrong 2 vezinas, a conn smyth, a Cup – and a legit chance for another deep this year. with a very trade-able 3m salary (if he wanted) in the offseason. Peverly is gonna be a 50 point guy at 3.2- which is not too bad either. So I ask- who are his bad contracts?

A lot of money, but look how much they’ve got to play with. In the short term, at least, it’s possible to keep him and still bring Hamilton up. Besides, it’s not like they couldn’t trade him with a deal like that. That’s a solid cap hit for a solid defender. If they really need to clear the space in future, there’ll be takers.

A lot of money, but a very solid D-man. One can do worse than to have a guy like this around- and if Hamilton is ready to go at some point, the trade value for a veteran defenseman like Boychuk is pretty solid. Look at all the teams right now that would love to have him- Flyers, Blackhawks, Capitals, all could use a guy like this.

Peter C is great at talent evaluation.
He is mid to lower pack at contracts. He always gives way to much cash and too many years.

Another great move for the Bruins. Very underrated but solid player. He fits the Bruins mold and was home grown. I also felt he would be the odd man out of defense for Hamilton. But after the way Corvo has played recently he is no doubt the one who will go. Corvo might not make it to the end of the season.
