Rinaldo rose up and intentionally went for the head, but was too SHORT to fully connect.

Ummm, “think again” is really not a substatial point.

Speaking of ridiculous points, read what you wrote, it doesnt make any sense at all.

“He targeted the head” “If Ericsson was short….face.”

Did I miss something, is the face no longer part of the head? By your account the face would have been above the head.

How would you know what he targeted, are you a prophet?

Maybe PHL should ban folks like you who watch the Housewives of Atlanta for educational purposes.

ken dog, buddy, you are a bit crazy and a bit right. I will agree with everything that you said here but i think you are commenting on the incorrect page. No one has hit anyone in the back in this particular situation which is maybe why you are getting some thumbs down. If you listen to BS’s (tribute to King Joe’s comment) reasoning then you will hear that it is pretty much a legal hit – Rinaldo’s listed height and past couple of games are going against him. You ask for more games, well sans the previous fines I am doubtful that there would have been this many.

I appreciate that you put CLEARLY in capital letters, but as there is debate associated with the actual “launching” i am not sure that even putting it in bold or italicized font would have won your argument. there are very few hits (ie Kronwall legally devastating Briere in the same game) which players dont leave their feet in the follow through of a hit, that is not launching. we have had goons on our team before (ie Brashear) and Rinaldo is not a goon, hard player yes, physical player yes, goon no.

Hitting someone full force in the back, when they don’t see you and after they have already shot the puck is a punk, cowardly act. What is the intention if not to injure them, maybe seriously? Where’s the respect for your fellow player’s life and livelihood? Good clean hits will always be part of the game, but these cheap shot idiots only hurt the whole game of hockey. Two games is way too little, try ten if you actually want the player to get the message.

If they want to teach Rinaldo a lesson with a suspension I understand. But why 2 games? They didn’t identify it as principle contact with the head, and since when do fines classify you as a repeat offender?

If they think a 2 minute minor isn’t enough for charging then change what gets called on the ice. Don’t suspend a guy for two games for a run-of-the-mill charging call.

2 notes: he appeared to be trying to stop or at least slow down, he wasn’t skating all the way to the hit or when he left his feet. and why doesn’t anyone consider that if he hadn’t left his feet, Rinaldo would have been eating elbow?

I hate when guys jump into a hit, but if you watch this it almost looks like he leaves his feet as he’s following through. I’m torn. I think 2 games is too much for this.

I’m tired of hearing that Ericsson is tall so Rinaldo had to leave his feet. If you can’t hit him legally, don’t try to him.

Ugghhh! Rinaldo is short. Ericsson is a Red Wing both are a factor is BS’s decision. Next time maybe Rinaldo should go low, low and legal take out the knees, that is what the NHL wants. Both the NHL and NFL care only about future lawsuits, not the game or true safety of players and their careers. Admittedly NFL players would rather get their bell rung then a blown ACL. I suspect a majority of NHL players would feel the same way.
