perhaps Plekanec should be suspended for making a mockery of the game. they seem to teach that in MTL. the best part was the announcer saying how “plekanec isn’t the type of player..” HA! – looks like him and PK are becoming closer. Shanahan will never be able to get any sort of consistency with his discipline if he doesn’t REALLY start penalizing diving. If they are gonna act like soccer players; treat them like soccer players. One dive = 1 yellow card; two dives = a 2nd yellow card- once you get your second you are suspend for a game. Review the dives AFTER the game as well, teach the player to play, everyone comes down on the refs and blames them for blowing calls(and they do) and games. I bet there would have been a tripping penalty on the Perry play the other game if the REF knew the player would have been suspended if it turned out he dove.

I’m going to keep re-posting this comment I made in December every time there is an article about Milbury.

Milbury is arrogant, short-sighted, ill-tempered and uncompromising. He offers nothing constructive to the business of analyzing hockey. He is a caricature of a dying perspective on the sport. Milbury detracts from the fun and informative value of any broadcast he is on. NBC should replace him with someone who fans want to hear from and save me the aggravation of having to yell at my TV every time he says something barbarically stupid.

I am no hockey expert. But I know enough to say that neither is Mike Milbury.

They need to kick Milbury off NBC. He has absolutely no hockey sense at all. Way worse than don cherry, mostly because cherry actually knows a thing or two about hockey

Staal threw the elbow, albeit soft. Pay the piper. Plekanec took a dive. Should’ve gotten two as well. Milbury is a blow hard who just likes to hear his own voice. What did he ever do to become a voice of hockey anyway?! No Stanley Cups. Couldn’t even succeed at coach! I don’t get it. Just another wannabe from Boston.

I agree with him on this specific example. And even Millbury admits that the other 2 are dirty. Should elbows like that be allowed? No. But Staal shouldnt face suspension for this. Maybe a fine.
