They aren’t making the playoffs.So enjoy watching the loses pile up.
They aren’t called the Crapitals for nothing.

As a fellow Caps fan i am NOT pleased with this performance. Simple put, our defense looked shaky, again. Neuvirth played pretty well only letting 3 goals in, the first be unstoppable by any standards. But Ovie was a non factor, Orlov played quite poor, and Joel Ward again didn’t look worth 1/10 the money we gave him. Hell he is barely playing he has been so bad. Green and Backstrom coming back sure helps, but Green is not a great defenseman. His best contributions are on the power play. Backstroms our key player, out 15 games and still leads the team in points. Problem is, when these guys come back, how far out of the playoffs are we? And have you seen our schedule? Brutal…

Standings don’t mean anything. Bruins have the most well rounded defense that, when firing on all cylinders, is unbeatable. We have two of the best goalies in the league, and we have the most well rounded 4 lines of forwards in the NHL. Our forwards will wear out and out grind any defense. And if you have a problem with any of this Adam Mcquaid, Shawn Thornton, and every other Bruin are always more then willing to settle a difference.
Rangers are looking good, but they can’t keep up with the B’s and they know it. Definitely looking forward to Tuesdays game though it should be a good one.

The rangers are a very good team. They remind me very much of those Devil teams 95 -2004 putting together cup runs. Now can tortorella keep from becoming overbearing and ineffective. He is a hardnosed coach who after a time wears on the players and they tend to shut him out.

The standings currently say the Bruins are the second best. The last time they played NY, they lost. We’ll see what happens on Tuesday, but as it stands, the Bruins are the second best, The Rangers are the best.

As for today’s game, I thought the Dubinsky-Boyle-Prust line played great. The commentators were talking about picking up Jeff Carter, which I don’t think they should do for what the Jackets would want. Leave the chemistry that this team has alone, at most go after a Ryan Smyth grinder/leader type.

The Rangers are such a deep and balanced team, it seemed that Gaborik and Richards were quiter today but they have enough depth to overcome quiet games from those guys. Not a fan of either team but it was a fun game to watch the Rangers are hard not to like.

I’m pleased with the Caps performance today. We showed up and didn’t get embarrassed on national TV. It shows that when we get to the playoffs we’ll have a shot to win a few series, and we’re not a team that the top-tier teams will look forward to having to beat 4 times.

The feature on Chimera was cool. He made a good point about the teams that have to fight to get in. I’m 100% okay with his type of player being the face of our franchise rather than Ovechkin or Semin.
