Mike Milbury picks three guys who are dogging it

Feb 12, 2012, 2:52 PM EDT

During intermission of today’s Rangers-Capitals game on NBC, Pierre McGuire and Mike Milbury picked out three guys who are rising and falling with their play. Milbury focused his efforts on three guys that could stand to use some improvement and with the Westminster Kennel Club dog show coming soon, it was too easy to call guys out as dogging it.

Who did Milbury pick out? If you’re a Blue Jackets, Capitals, or Flyers fan you’ll want to warm up your outrage machine or your leash. Jeff Carter as a Chihuahua? Alex Semin as a Basenji? Ilya Bryzgalov as a French poodle? Believe it. It’s not all negative though as McGuire picked out his favorite for the Vezina Trophy that isn’t named Henrik Lundqvist.

Kind of annoying how the media enjoys picking on Ilya Bryzgalov. He’s been better lately, but nobody bothers to acknowledge that. Every goaltender has bad stretches.

every goalie gets ripped for those bad stretches.. especially in a market that actually expresses interest in hockey.

I would rather have a Basenji than a Semin

What was left out of this article was when Mike Milbury went on to say “I would have traded for all three of these guys when I was the Islanders GM.”

Semin is underperforming, in the last year of his contract, on a struggling Capitals team. He must be traded before the deadline, right?
