Why the hell would the Pens do that? Even an injured Crosby is better than a healthy Carter considering his contract. They’re playing well without Crosby but no guarantees Carter wouldn’t hurt the team chemistry.

I laughed a little on the weekend to hear Nick Kyprios mention the Canucks were front runners. Not sure how that’d work, since we don’t have the cap space and we already have one long-term contract. And before you say it’s the new Vinny for Roberto deal, we know Luongo would never ok a deal to Columbus, even if he might have a slim chance of doing so for Tampa.

Trade him to Pittsburgh for Crosby straight-up. Howson has nothing to lose. Could you imagine where Carter would line up in that already stacked Penguins roster?

And in case you did not know, Carter and Richards were both run out of town because they liked to get $hitfaced drunk, and when they did, far too many times they thought it was 1982 and casually did blow like no big deal. Witnessed by far too many far too many times.

My question is how did Paul Holmgren manage to get Scott Howson to take Jeff Carter off him in the first place? Did he take him to a hotel and buy him dinner, a few drinks, and a night with a woman of negotiable virtue or did Scott Howson just take his stupid pills that morning?
