AP After Toronto finished honoring Mats Sundin, the Montreal Canadiens, desperate for a win against the eighth place Maple Leafs to keep the their slim playoff hopes alive, seemed to do everything right Saturday. Price earned his second shutout in just four games as Montreal posted a 5-0 victory. While he has been shaky at times this season, Price has been one of the Canadiens biggest assets this season and he only seems to be improving as Montreal tries to make up lost ground during the final stretch.
The Montreal Canadiens aren’t scheduled to play in a set of back-to-back games until March 16 and 17, which means that it’s entirely possible that Price will start in every Canadiens contest over the next month. Price has already been leaned on heavily this season, but Montreal will have to continue to do so if they want to have any chance of playing beyond their season finale on April 7.
