Wow, there are a lot of people not understanding what went on in this play. If you see intent to injure you should have a family member drive you down to LensCrafters. I see Moore trying to take out Fedotenko’s space but he wasn’t paying attention to what was going on around him on the ice. Moore collides, Fedsy gets a chip in the face, he dives wildly to attract a call, gets the call.

And now you know.

And knowing is half the battle. Before you disagree, play hockey for 20 years and check back.

But there WAS intent to injure: Hitting him blindside high with shoulder follow through. THAT is what the NHL is trying to eliminate.

He’s just following in Campbell’s counfounding and wandering footsteps. At this rate he’s a lock to eventually replace head idiot Gary Bettman (just as soon as he draws up plans to further dilute and cripple the league by expanding to Fresno, Des Moines, Sante Fe, three more cities in hockey-mad Florida, and Death Valley).

I don’t understand why this is an ongoing issue. Obviously Shanahan thinks that no contact is made to the head if Fedotenko’s stick isn’t there, and no one can point irrefutably to the video to say he’s wrong.

If he doesn’t hit him in the head, it’s not a head shot. Perhaps the stick should get Shanabanned? We could try playing without sticks if you’d like.

Not surprised at all that Captain Inconsistency blew another one. Shanahan is killing his legacy as a player by creating a new legacy as the worst disciplinarian the NHL has seen.
