Like it was said, he was being used as a center in the offseason and beginning of the season, if you watch him now, he seems more confident with his game then he ever did in the season, he deff a 2nd liner and will be a great player for years, and the whole team besides vanek and pomonville are having a bad year, everyone needs to relax and stop calling for people’s heads

i agree he isnt a bad player with no skills but his history as a short term guy should have earned him some adaptive skills by now. this is his third team and he hasnt played for one club more than 2 years, he should be used to change by now. buffalo was definitely dumb for paying him like they did for only one good season’s worth of work but he has been a decent utility guy/role player in the past and he should be doing more than he is no matter who he is playing with.

Yes Obamablowz, and you are on the reciving end. Anyway, Rag on Leino all you want, and I do plenty, but take a look at what lines he has played on this season. He has played with every single player on the roster, including AHL call-ups, atleast once. He had an offseason learning his role as a number 2/3 center, playing with wingers who are 2/3 guys. Should he have some blame? Yes, but to completly blame it all on his skill is a bit much.

it’s not Leino’s fault he is a 3rd line player at best, filled a perfect role in Philadelphia with good talent around him and Buffalo (who should be moved to another city) paid him like he is a star. Way to take the money and run making Holmgren look good once again.

it shouldnt take a professional 50+ games and an offseason to start “understanding the system and his teammates”….especially with the paycheck he is getting.
