Pretty much. I’m happy with updates when they hit key recovery points: light exercise, hard exercise, skating, contact, ready to play. We don’t need incremental updates on anything in between those steps, only if a player goes up a level or starts having symptoms again and regresses.

In seriousness it’s hard to take issue with Julien on this one. We don’t know a lot about recovery from concussions but if the atmosphere of daily updates and timelines and so on get back to the player at all I am sure they create stress, and players should be free to focus on recovery without that – particularly players suffering from brain injuries as stress can really have an adverse effect.
