Neither Gomez or Drury had done something to warrent that kind of money… or even close to that kind of money for that matter.

Does make one wonder just what the hell Montreal was thinking when they traded for Gomez. If it was a horrible idea to give Gomez $7 million a year expecting him to out perform his previous play, it was a REALLY bad idea to trade for him when he was failing to do just that.

Of course I don’t think anyone would have expected him to go 51 games without a goal… thats just amazing.
