Mark Eaton’s unlikely (and splendid) OT winner

Feb 3, 2012, 11:37 PM EDT

New York Islanders defenseman Mark Eaton decided to celebrate his 600th career NHL game in style. The veteran blueliner hasn’t scored in the regular season since Nov. 28, 2009, but he certainly made it count by scoring a beauty in overtime to give the Isles a 2-1 win against the Ottawa Senators:

Eaton now has 24 goals in his regular season career and four in 60 playoff games. Maybe he doesn’t find the net often, but give him credit – a nice chunk of them have been dramatic.

Brutal, my Sens need to get it together starting tonight.

Lucky you got a point in this one. The Sens better be ready for a well-rested Leafs team hungry to pull within 1 point of you guys, but I bet they won’t be. Should be a good game tonight.
