That said, moving him to the wing at a time when two of your big three centers are hurt – and then signing Cal O’Reilly – might be a subtle signal to him (and perhaps a few other guys) that it’s time to start netting some points. They’ve been looking at him to provide some offense here and there, but he hasn’t provided any.

But not to take away from Vitale – he’s the type of role player you need to go deep in the playoffs.

Though with this signing, and the Penguins picking up Cal O’Reilly, one has to wonder what this might mean for Dustin Jeffery’s future.

Also, Jack Edwards… geez. It’d be fun to hear him and his Penguin counterpart Paul Steigerwald have a homer battle on the air during a game.
