I remember this game. They were after Moore all game for the hit on Naslund in the previous meeting. And Moore did in fact drop the gloves (not sure who, think it was Cooke). The problem was, Moore actually won the fight. So Crawford, Burke and Bertuzzi didn’t get their “pound of flesh.” When the game got out of hand (I believe the Avs went up by 3-4 goals) thats when things got nasty. Crawford sent Bertuzzi out late in the third to get Moore. Moore refused to fight (Bertuzzi out weighed him by at least 30 pounds). Thats when Bertuzzi chased him down the ice and cowardly attacked him from behind. The thing that sticks with me was the smirk on Crawfords face when Moore was carted off on a stretcher. The incident is still a stain on the NHL to this day. Moore’s life was ruined while Bertuzzi took the fall for both Burke and Crawford. It was a shameful episode for the league.

Another classy move by hunter and McPhee. Sounds like they have their priorities out of line compared to the rest of the league…but hey what else is knew

Moore just needed to confront Bert rather than chirp and try to run away like the punk he was, nobody is giving any cheap shots if he just sacks up and drops them and give his best.
Cheap shots these players give and then running away from the consequences gets them whatever is coming to them, for Moore it was a busted neck. Oh well. Should have threw the gloves off and punched Bert in the face.

Then Bourque is going to have to turtle and/or punk or like Steve Moore and take the beating that is coming to him.

So either he can pull a Subban/Moore and punk out or take what’s coming to him and defend himself and let it be over.

This really reminds me of when Steve Moore knocked out Naslund with an elbow to the head. There was a lot of talk about how much of a piece of crap Moore was and how he was going to get destroyed. Moore fought Cooke and that should have been enough, but we all know what happened. Really would hate to see Bourque get hurt badly because of this. Can’t justify a cheap shot on someone because of a previous cheap shot.

good luck getting bourque to fight again…especially with a designated thug. he wont see any minutes against the first line and is probably not going to even get a chance to check bourque much less fight him. what a waste of a roster spot…
