Speaking of blown leads- did anyone else see the NBC executive who wanted to get the Rangers-Devils game to overtime throw that puck right onto the stick of Clarkson? NBC and the NHL must have been having secret meetings on that one now for a while as retaliation for Torts’ comments from the Winter Classic! LOL!
The game was a great game, but I hate to see games decided by a fluky bad bounce!

Actually he was the original owner of the Preds and sold the team a few years back. I have to give him props for bringing a team to Nashville but he really never jived with marketing a team in the south. As it turned out his selling the team to local investors is the best thing that ever happened. I really appreciate the fact that he didn’t sell to that POS Ballsilli or we wouldn’t even have a team. There is a lot of Pred love for Wild players Greg Zanon and Jed Ortmeyer, so they are really not one of our “hate teams”.

vshehane -it’s only just 9 and I’ve already learned something new. I didn’t know he had turned down an opportunity to be with the Preds- he must be kicking himself now! I’m sure the win tasted awfully bitter to him, huh. (I’ve only been in MN for a few years so I’m still learning when it comes to the Wild; the whole Western conference for that matter)

Bethgoesglobal, you are probably correct but the third period has been magic for the Preds this year. The have a never say die attitude. Besides its always sweet to get a win against the owner who didn’t want us. Thank you Mr Leopold, may we have another?

I do actually like the Preds but the home team always wins the “rooting” battle I’m gonna have to say though, from where I stood their win wasn’t so much a result of incredible play-making as a complete breakdown of the Wilds defensive system. The Wild had been dominating the play in neutral ice for the first 2 periods, but it disintegrated during the 3rd. This is not to say that the Preds didn’t show great perseverance on the puck and really charged the net to get those much needed goals to pull out the win.Props to them! (they also got me some much need fantasy points!

You failed to mention the Wild’s defeat in the last 5 minutes of play. Nashville got 2 quick goals and with 20 secs left Fisher tossed in and stabbed the hearts of the Wild and their fans. They went from a comfortable 4-1 lead to misery. It was horrible. Is there anything worse than hearing your fans “boo-ing” at you at the end of the game. I was there- it was painful. Boys, my heart goes out to you. Let’s pretend it was all just a horrible dream…
