good goalies are hard to come by. thats like trading a shut-down corner for a runningback (here’s looking at you dan snyder), doesnt make sense. i wouldnt call parise a dime a dozen but he is replaceable, a good goalie is not usually

Miller, Boyes and Grags for Parise straight up. He’d love to play with his buddy Drew Stafford and there is no commitment from the Sabres to stick with any core players, Miller included. Pick up the phone Darcy!!!

They’ve got some excellent young defensive propsects/players as well as a few promising forwards, but you’d think they’d love to alleviate their financial issues by turning Parise into a top young goalie and some more depth skaters to help make this team more attractive with less risk to financiers.

Too bad they think they’re more than a bubble team who’s willing to risk it despite all the obvious signs otherwise.

Trade Parise for a goalie? It’s not like Brodeur or Hedberg have been very good, and even if they found a little form neither is a realistic choices in the mid to long term for NJ. Both will be retired within the next 2 years. If Parise isn’t staying; why not make a deal?

Yeah, it’s pretty obvious Parise is gone. The Devils have two choices: get something for him or nothing for him. Keeping him after this year is not an option, but since it’s the one they’re trying to choose things are going to get worse for this franchise in the next few years.

Its a massive mistake just like the Kovy contract.
Parise is GONE from Jersey and they are getting nothing for him.

All the thumbs down are from the clueless, Parise might not go to Minny, but he is going somewhere not named New Jersey.

With the Devils goaltending situation, the notion of them going deep into the playoffs is far fetched to me.

If they keep him they have a good shot at making it deep in the playoffs, but, if they don’t win the Stanley Cup and he walks for nothing was it worth it? I think Lou is making a mistake though as I don’t think the team will make it past the second round of the playoffs.

If the stories of the financial troubles are true, they have no chance of resigning him. May as well get something. Of course Lou is limited to players willing to come and be treated like kids by a control freak.

Lou is making a mistake.

The Wild allegedly are willing to offer this years 1st round pick and a top prospect (Jason Zucker).

Guess he will come here for nothing. As a Wild fan, not having to trade an asset to get him is fantastic.
