Didn’t mean to insinuate that Spezza had a muffin or anything. The “surprise” was more that he was only the second guy to hit +100 on the gun (and that he beat Phaneuf, who once finished second to Chara in this very same event.)

Curious to see how hard Al Mcinnis and Iafrate’s shots would have been with composite sticks. IM going to say they would have been around the 110 mark. It was a big big deal years ago when they were hitting 101-103. One way to find out is if weber and chara lined up with those same heavy wood sticks they used.

Seems weird saying this, but hardest shot is not always the best. Johnny Boychuck actually may have the best shot from the point on Boston and nobody had a better shot than Bobby Orr and he his shot wasn’t as fast as Chara’s. The big guy is best when he’s defending.

Spezza shot 103.5 at the team’s competition, so I was expecting more than the 100.5 he shot today. Of course, I follow hockey and know these things, unlike the writer who was surprised spezza shoots so hard.
