With that in mind, let’s have fun with two polls:

First, which roster is best equipped to win the skills competition?

Lastly, which team should win the 2012 NHL All-Star Game?

To make it easier, here are the two rosters (in order of selection):

Team Alf

Forwards: Alfredsson, Spezza, Giroux, Stamkos, the Sedin twins, Neal, Tavares, Hartnell, Pominville and Couture.
Defensemen: Karlsson, Letang, Weber, Girardi, Yanle and Edler.
Goalies: Lundqvist, Quick, Elliott

Team Chara

Forwards: Lupul, Datsyuk, Malkin, Hossa, Perry, Kessel, Kane, Iginla, Gaborik, Eberle, Seguin, and Benn.
Defensemen: Chara, Timmonen, Suter, Campbell, Phaneuf and Wideman.
Goalies: Thomas, Price and Howard.

Alfredson has better D, and better goalies. Chara has better offense.

Alfie having better goalies is debatable. Chara’s team has a way better offense, which is what this game’s all about.

  2. bostonsfullofrats - Jan 26, 2012 at 11:34 PM

    TEAM ALFY for the WIN

  3. danphipps01 - Jan 26, 2012 at 11:49 PM

Chara’s got the edge just about everywhere. Close, but Team Chara’s just plain better.

  4. rwmilli - Jan 26, 2012 at 11:52 PM

HAHA wow anyone who looks over these rosters and believes chara has the better team is delusional…

  5. muttbolts - Jan 27, 2012 at 12:11 AM

No h sedin in team alf.what up?

      hey muttbolts,
welcome back. haven’t heard from you since the Bruins kicked the crap out of the lightening last June. how ya been?

  7. muttbolts - Jan 27, 2012 at 12:14 AM

    And Milan Michalek

  8. bostonianpride - Jan 27, 2012 at 12:22 AM

Team Chara has the better Goaltenders, the better forwards and the BEST Defensemen in the league in Big Z. Team Chara is easily taking the All-Star game and Skills competition!!!!

  9. rwmilli - Jan 27, 2012 at 12:34 AM

Other than the fact that there’s no hitting in the all star game…chars is useless other than a poke check here and there…it’s clear that alffy has the best possible def in karlsson, and FYI he also has the two most consistent, clean, underrated players, and by far the best players in the Sedins, hate all you want ” men lie, women lie, numbers don’t “

    • 1943mrmojorisin1971 - Jan 27, 2012 at 2:42 AM

Chara’s only good for a couple of poke checks? What about winning hardest shot? The skills competition is about as relevant as the game, probably more so.

  10. muckthefets23 - Jan 27, 2012 at 2:30 AM

Alfy is winning this Chara supporters ARE delusional as previously stated. Giroux AND both Sedins alone is enough to argue my case.

  11. rwmilli - Jan 27, 2012 at 2:41 AM

In what sense ? They are all former scoring leaders…half are injury prone, the Sedins are coming off 100 point seasons for how long now…Claude G is insanity ad stamkos is a monster…that’s just a start at alfs roster…

  12. bostonianpride - Jan 27, 2012 at 6:26 AM

Team Chara has Malkin who is the leading the league in points even after missing 17 games along with the Lupul and Kessel (as a Bruin fan it pains me to say I will have no choice but to cheer for Kessel but those to have shown as much chemistry with eachother this year as both Sedin sister) Iginla who scored his 500th goal this season, Datsyuk (a player who both captains wanted) and 2 snipers in Perry (won the shootout competition) last year and Seguin who us one of the best younger players in the League! Team Chara has way better offense and will win this thing hands down!!!!

  13. cshearing - Jan 27, 2012 at 8:12 AM

Very even teams, as to be expected. Really looking forward to the Skills Competition this year. I thought the changes last year made it much better.

  14. flyersfandave - Jan 27, 2012 at 8:44 AM

Ignorant fans were annoying. The best players in hockey are getting harassed. WTF. Chars steered clear of all Flyers. Lupul should have picked Hartnell to F with Chara. Sedins together should be fun.

    • kellyb9 - Jan 27, 2012 at 9:15 AM

      Except Timonen..

  15. flyersfandave - Jan 27, 2012 at 8:48 AM

Team Alf stronger scorers. Team Chara stronger D Good game

  16. mgp1219 - Jan 27, 2012 at 12:15 PM
