		<description><![CDATA[I get wanting to commemorate this event, but without the Cold War context this and every other meeting between the two teams is just another hockey game. I really wish I could have been around to see this series and the 1987 world juniors game.]]></description>

Neither side won during that fateful September forty years ago.  Despite their skillful play and excellent sportsmanship, the Russians ended up as the losers on the final score sheet, when all was said and done.  As for the Canadian side, their &quot;last minute&quot; triumph will forever have an asterisk beside it, due entirely to the &quot;orders&quot; as referenced above which were issued by Coach John Fergsuson to Bobby Clarke in game 6.  The true winner back then was the game of hockey and I for one am grateful to have seen this when it happened ...]]></description>
