I have to disagree a little with this post. ERRORhoff is one of the most overrated players in the league--at least he was when the sharks dumped him. Just look at the ducks and dallas series for all the evidence you need. The problem was that he was still a tradable asset. He couldn't have gotten much but I remember hearing at the draft that teams wanted his rights but somehow he left for absolutely nothing. The "insiders" could definitely have been wrong but enough of them were saying the same thing to make me think there was some validity to their claims. At any rate I'm still happy that ERRORhoff is not a Shark.

What Wilson will do is trade away a Demers or Braun for somebody like an Ales Hemsky. Wilson loves players who are passive, but supposedly have "Skills". Or you will see somebody like a Dominic Moore coming to San Jose. Wilson is looking for 4 things in a trade.

1. A Rental Player, most likely from Winnipeg, Carolina, or New Jersey.
2. A Useless often Injured player, who has skill
3. Someone who is supposed to be good on the PK and at faceoffs.
4. Someone who is not physical and is a "nice guy" off the ice.

As a Sharks fan I have to agree with the first two comments. But I also understand the point the writer is trying to make.

This Sharks team has a lot of needs, and really not much that is worth anything. Wilson who I consider a reactionary type of GM, made two of the worst trades ever this past summer. He vastly overpaid for Brent Burns when he had the exact same player three seasons ago whom he just gave away for nothing. Christian Erhroff is exactly the same player as Burns with the exception of Burns being larger and Erhroff actually being more physical. Wilson choose too keep a washed up Rob Blake and get rid of Erhroff. And this just shows how Wilson is reactionary. He never thinks about the future. Trading away draft choice after draft choice as led the team to have to play bums like Tammy Wingels, and John McCarthy both players who have no business being in the nhl.

Which brings me back to the article the only trade chips the Sharks have are Clowe, Murray, and Pavelski. Unfortunately nobody wants Havlat because he is always injured and Marleau and Thornton would never give up playing in the Sharks country club atmosphere.

Defensively Vlasic is the teams best defensive defense man, wow. And Boyle has a NTC as does Burns. Leaving only Murray, Demers and Braun as tradeable assets.

Nobody wants Torrey Mitchell, Michael Handzus or Antero Niittymaki or Tomas Griess. And since Wilson has already traded away our 1st round pick for this year and probably next year too, so there is nothing to trade. And even if there was Wilson would make another stupid rental player trade with Carolina or Winnipeg.

The injury doesn't really matter. He's done nothing useful or worth noting thus far. Wake me up when one of his shots actually hits the net.
