Bruins honored by President Obama

Jan 23, 2012, 3:15 PM EDT

While we await Tim Thomas’s explanation for skipping the Bruins’ visit to the White House today, here’s a picture of the team with President Barack Obama.

source: AP

According to the Associated Press, Obama said what most sports fans outside of Beantown have been thinking lately: “The Bruins, the Sox, the Celtics, now the Patriots. Enough already, Boston.”

Pretty good line.

Actually, wait, could he make that a law? That teams from Boston can’t win titles anymore? Even the Republicans could get on board with that, right? It’s time to unite the nation, Mr. President.

I’m glad they didn’t put a 12 on that jersey, it would have felt like a political endorsement in an election year for the top idiot.

The Top Idiot honors go to Thomas and the clown he supports.

The Top Idiot honors go to Thomas and the clown who he supports.

Is it “the clown he supports” or “the clown who he supports” or is this just you being a studdering fool?

I suspect that a certain Mr. Romney, being from Massachusetts, would oppose an anti-Boston victory statute. And would then take credit for the prowess of the local teams.

Everything was going great until Lucic punched Obama in the back of the head with a sucker punch when he wasn’t looking.

Lucic claims he was just trying to give him a “high five”. As a result, No suspension.

Things really turned ugly when Milan Lucic (Tim Thomas best friend) sucker punched the President in the back of the head.

After the dust had settled, coach Julien stated, “Luch” was just trying to give the President a “high five”.

As a result, there will be no further discipline for Licic and the Bruins.

      more studdering from the frogs…

Habsman’s a Patriot fan. It’s his dirty little secret. But yeah, that was weak. I like Jacob’s tie and Cam looks a little heavier than his playing days. And Thornton just can’t hide that backstreet prize fighter mug. Looks like Barack is rocking a gold and black toned tie as well. A subtle presidential nod to the Beantown Bears for a job well done?

Tim Thomas that’s not right. It’s our President. Go Obama!

    • back2backbees - Jan 23, 2012 at 4:51 PM

      • habsman - Jan 23, 2012 at 5:25 PM

Nope, don’t swing that way either (not that there’s anything wrong with it).

BTW, have you or your pals sucker punched any mascots latelt?

      • 8man - Jan 23, 2012 at 7:48 PM

My ten year old has an irrational fear of mascots. Something happened at Chuck E. Cheese years ago, and he ain’t over it. Do you think if I decked one it would help?

  7. habsman - Jan 23, 2012 at 4:56 PM

    *too.

is that Thomas Kaberle behind Obama? Wasn’t he signed by Carolina during the offseason? Did this meeting even happen? or did the US government fabricate that as well? lol
