And to further that point, go back and check Ian Cole’s hit earlier this year in DET which cost him 3 games … I mean are you kidding me? Cole, a rookie, has no intent. Same with Zetterberg. Great, I get that … so why does Henrik get the benefit of the doubt. J-O-K-E.

He didn’t appear to shove and or barely touched him, however the great on ice official saw otherwise (brutal) now the interesting to see if Shannie the Czar will dole out punishment? I doubt it but Shannie has been all over the board so nothing would be surprise. So RedWing send some Pizza and remind who he works for….

Not even remotely intended. He was just trying to anticipate which way Nikitin was going to turn. It was a typical hockey play.

Too bad calls like this one have to be made, but it’s the only way to maintain order across the board.

It’s the right call. There’s no arm extension after he touches Nikitin so he’s not pushing though the touch is obvious. And you see Zetterberg do everything he can to try to avoid hitting Nikitin once it’s obvious he’s going down. I also think the judgement of the players on the ice counts – not a single Blue Jackets’ player went after Zetterberg for the hit.
