I'm more concerned with Carle's piss poor defense. When will the Flyers trade/waive him. He is useless in his own end and has too many turnovers/mishandles that lead to losing offensive zone possession. If they traded him for lug nuts for the Zamboni, they would be ahead of the game. When will the Flyers realize this is why two other teams already gave up on him. Can you say "first round bust".

You show youre
ignorance by that statement alone...you obviously dont have the ability to give anyone but youre team credit. Youre not a true hockey fan. But, ifd you want facts howed the fact that pittsburgh had to be absolutely terrible for many seasons in order to get malkin & crosby....meanwhile the flyers were in the mix every year and didnt get those high pics because they were the leagues doormat. So enjoy youre success while it lasts....the flyers have a winning percentage only behind montreal in league history and one less 100 point season than boston both teams original six teams can pittsburgh bost this longevity....no!

Most of what you said sounds like it came out of the butt end of your body.

Look at the stats for crying out loud...at least base an opinion on something other than what you 'think' happened...see what really DID happen.

2006-07	PIT	78	33	52	85	2
2007-08	PIT	82	47	59	106	16
2008-09	PIT	82	35	78	113	17
2009-10	PIT	67	28	49	77	-6
2010-11	PIT	43	15	22	37	-4
2011-12	PIT	41	26	32	58	12

In 2009-10 and 2010-11, Malkin had various knee injuries that affected his play. Last year, he missed the second half of the season because he needed surgery.

As if that isn't enough...he is UNDER CONTRACT WITH THE PENS THROUGH 2013-2014...so this INS'T a contract year.

You guys are terrible with the facts.

Now seriously...Giroux is great player...but 'so much better than Malkin'?

Malkin is playing great hockey...and it was pretty obvious at the beginning of the season, he was still working his knee (remember surgery last year?) back into shape. He missed some time because the knee was swelling after games/practices.

Obviously now, things are better....58 points in 41 games.

To say Giroux is 'so much better' sounds like don't remember anything about what Malkin has done before this year.

In their careers,
Giroux has 205 points in 251 games (68 goals)
Malkin has 476 points in 393 games (184 goals)

Plus, Malkin has already won a scoring title (Art Ross) and the Conn Smythe trophy.

I like Giroux a lot...but 'so much better than Malkin'...that's just not right.

Malkin vs Giroux? Depends. Do you want a 6'4" center who only plays hard in his contract year, has world class offensive talent and doesn't give a darn on the defensive side? Then you want Malkin.

Do you want a smaller, speedier skater with elite vision and incredible playmaking skills who is the best player on both ends of the ice, who plays hard every game of every year? Take Giroux.

I'd take Malkin in any contract year, and Giroux every other year.
