I’m a Flyer fan and Crosby hater, but I’ve said all along that what happened to him isn’t right. I’m not calling for penalties from the league, but I do know it sucks for Crosby and Penguins fans. I remember Lindros and all his concussions. At the top of his game, Lindros was an absolute monster, but as the concussions (from clean but hard hits) mounted you could see the toll taken. These guys make some pretty good money but it isn’t worth getting their brains scrambled. I hope Pronger gets back to normal. The fan in me wants to see him back out there but the realist in me says get healthy, retire, and enjoy your family. If the need to be around the rink is tto strong, take a coaching, front office, or media job. It’s a shame this happens but a person’s health is worth more than even a Stanley Cup.

Nobody wishes that kind of stress on anyone, or shouldn’t at least. He has a beautiful wife (better than any Edmonton weather girls! what was he thinking?) and loving kids at home to help him at least but that’s gotta be tough. Most other injuries you can get around and function at least but that can be debilitating.

I was wonder the same thing.
Wheres eagleswineagleswin at, I believe the last time there was something on Crosby he stated something like glad he was out and hope he never plays again.

With Prongers age and with everything he as accomplished in hockey, I do hope him and his family make the right choice and hangs them up. One hell of a warrior………

The only problem with him retiring is Philly will have to eat that contract.

this is a testament to what an NHL family has to deal with and the seriousness of this injury. this is the same guy who’s heart stopped on the ice, this family has been through a lot throughout his career…this has to be the most frustrating and scary because there is so much unknown and this could affect the rest of his life. get better, and i really hope he considers hanging em up for his family’s sake if not his own.

It’s sad and heartbreaking. Its one thing when a guy breaks his leg for our entertainment buts its another when he has memory issues, can’t leave his house among other things all for the game he loves.
I really hope that advances in technology along with some rules changes can’t curtail the amount of concussions we are seeing.

On the plus side there is a lot more knowledge and acceptance of concussions and discussion so at least its headed in the right direction.
