I think AV should drop Kes to the 3rd line with Hansen and ? and tell him to get back to his Selke-type game. That’s what Kes does best. Give Hodgson the reigns to run the second offensive unit. Honestly our team doesn’t need more goals, we need better team defense.

The highlight-reel educated masses don’t know what Kesler is capable of defensively, but he hasn’t been nominated for the Selke 3 times for nothing.

sanjosecupcrazy – Don’t despair my friend, as there are plenty of excellent hockey fans around the province of British Columbia … it’s the ones who live here in Vancouver and surrounding suburbs who have given the city and team such a bad reputation. You’ll find that these people are typically young, spoiled, arrogant, narcissistic, childish, ignorant and violent, yet they think that the world is their oyster. I’ve commented here before, how embarrassing I find it when these punks travel en masse to an arena down south and start singing O’Canada together like the disrespectful idiots they are. Anyway, the proof is always in the pudding, as was made clearly evident here last June. The irony with that however, is that these cowards would never have been so brazen if we had a North Korean or Iranian anti-riot squad policing our streets that night.

In all seriousness, Kesler is a career 20 – 25 goal scorer and just happened to score 41 last year. He’s got 12 in 42 games this year. That works out to *gasp* 23 goals this year.

Remember that year Jason Blake scored 40 goals? Yeah, anyone can do it.

So, I used to think the Canucks were cool….. Until their players started flopping around….. and their coach started crying all the time….. and their fans came down to our arena during the playoffs last year and acted like Raider fans….. and then promptly lit their town on fire when they didn’t win in the finals.

What is amazing to me is that, from what I read, the rest of Canada hates them too. No one roots for you, Vancouver. You’re the North Korea / Iran of hockey: no one likes you, no one sympathizes with you and everyone wishes you would just go away.

I LOVE Canadian people….. but you guys above the line up there can have the Vancouverites. Please keep them on your side of the border.

nonetheless, I categorically reject your remarks based on the following facts:

1) I’m a decent, red-blooded “values-driven” man who lives in Vancouver

2) from my home, a crow can reach Rogers Arena within 5 minutes “flying time”

3) I’m highly opposed to violent “metro-sexual” arsonists, car-flippers and thieves

4) I do not support the Canucks as I consider them to be a criminal organization

5) my favorite of all time is the LA Kings and we won here last night !

Kesler’s a good guy and an invaluable member of the Canucks … and thus there was never anything to this “apparent” story. However, what this does is to serve as another reminder of the “suicidal” direction which our society as a whole continues to hurtle along. In my opinion, our accelerating desire for ever-faster and ever-invasive “connectivity” is leading us to an absolute abyss, from which as a species, I fear we will not be able to recover. In many ways we’re like a car racing down a mountain road completely out of control … and yet instead of applying the brakes, we’re stomping on the gas pedal ! What will people say in 5 or 10 years time ? … “oh yes, those were the good ole days back in 2012, when it only took 5 seconds for a mountain to be out of a molehill” ? … or perhaps … “I sure miss those peaceful days in 2012 when I only got 300 text messages per hour” ? The bottom line is that the path we’re on is simply not sustainable … at some point this entire “instant” connectivity crap is going to throw us all over a cliff ! … and God help us when that happens …
