This is a tough stretch for the B’s. Mid season, lots of games, White House distraction, coming off an incredible stretch of wins. They’re bound to come back down to Earth for a bit. As long as they don’t collapse into the Cup hangover of October, they’ll be just fine. They’re just fine.

Marchand will provide a needed spark after his five game respite. I’d take this opportunity to play Rask more. Give Thomas a little down time, which he might need. Give Rask some more action, which he wants and can handle better than most number ones.

It would be easier to list the ones he’s not calling out. With the exception of three or four standouts, everyone else appears to be trying too hard. Passes are on opponents sticks, breakaways, puck chasing, etc… Not good for the group going to the White House. Maybe Nose-Face can show the Prez how it’s done on skates.

I wouldn’t say anyone is phoning it in, like the 5 from last season were, but some decent situational awareness would help.
