Give me a break. Another ill-informed lunatic from the Pitt heard from again. Sometimes I think there is nobody but Pens fans responding to hockey blogs. I am a Pens fan and I will say that the one thing about Boudreau that I like is that he has passion for the game and his team. He stuck by the Capitals players even though in his heart he knew they were a bunch of pansies with no sacks and knew Ovie stands for Overrated but he stuck by him anyway. Caps players couldnt buy into defense because most aren’t all around players. When your best D-man is Mike Green, you’re in trouble! If any of you watched 24/7 Pens-Capitals, you would notice that the Capitals pretty much build their whole season around how many times they can beat the Penguins and at the start blamed their lack of success on HBO but then praised them when they won the WC, which to Washington is almost as good as a Cup. Hiller probably did deserve a better fate, but to single out Malkin still shows he has that Caps mindset, which he really needs to shed if he wants to make it in Anaheim. Good luck Bruce, I found you to be honest and entertaining in 24/7 and think you deserve a bit better than you got stuck with in Washington.

Being a Pens fan, I have more than a few choice words I could offer Bruce, but his “east coast” team quit on him for a reason. Yes, there are biases in the NHL & yes, one of them is against the west. Sad but true. However, you don’t start taking deserving players apart because this exists. If you have a problem with it then go after the NHL!

Where was the east coast bias when Corey Perry was named MVP?

Not saying it doesn’t exist, but the guy only faced 65 shots in 3 games. That says as much about the team defence over that stretch as it does about Hiller’s play.

Hiller might have been considered for the star selection if this was the first or second week of the season. The bottom line is the Ducks are out of the picture, therefore nobody really cares. Hiller and the Ducks would have to go on a monumental run (even more insane than last year) to perk up anybody’s ears.
