According to Sharks beat writer David Pollak (Mercury News), the trade rumors involving Ryane Clowe are “bogus” and San Jose GM Doug Wilson doesn’t have his “finger on the trigger” ready to make any specific deal.

CSN Sharks insider Kevin Kurz is also shooting down any trade rumors involving Clowe, suggesting fans “be more concerned” with the fact Clowe (upper-body injury) won’t be able to play tonight versus the Flames.

Clowe, 29, has nine goals in 42 games. The big winger is signed until the end of 2012-13 at a cap hit of $3.625 million. He does not have a no-trade clause.

This all started with a tweet from the fake Nick Kypreos Twitter account: https://twitter.com/#!/RealKyper_/status/159112516587368449

    Nothing to see here, folks.

    Move along.

Clowe better not be traded. What an idiot move that would be. Trade those wuss guys in Marleau and Thornton before anything else

Unfortunately this is the type of stupid move that Doug Wilson would do. He just does not like those physical type of players, which Clowe and Douglas Murray are.

I am not only for trading both Marleau or Thornton, but also for trading unproductive players such as Torrey Mitchell, and Tommy Wingels. I would love to see the team trade a goalie, but no one wants Greiss, and no team would want a goalie who has not played in an NHL game in over a year.

Unless it is Marleau or Thornton I just don’t see the Sharks doing much, because they don’t really have much to give up. No prospects, no draft picks, no depth.
