“Ferguson was famous (infamous?) for signing veteran players to hefty contracts with no-trade clauses and having a poor drafting history.”

That’s the 11 year history of the Jackets almost summed up in one sentence. Add ridiculously one sided trades for the other teams and you would have nailed it. He’ll be a natural fit. Sadly, as a Jackets fan, I can see it happening. The only upside for Jackets fans, is Jackets ownership may consider him over-qualified.

Correction – Rask for Raycroft AND a 1st round pick !! Before anyone tries to defend Ferguson & say “you never know what your getting with draft picks” remember that this deal was made right after Rask’s impressive performance at the World Juniors. JFJ was an awful awful GM, Joe is right – it will get even worse as hard as that is to fathom
