Also, very true. However, the trade that he would deny was always for a player who was at least 5 years past his prime and out of gas. Remember the Tony Amonte deal? How about the Adam Oates disaster? One of the draft picks in the Oates deal resulted in the Caps getting Alexander Semin. Not 100% sure on this but one of the draft picks sent to Chicago for Amonte, resulted in David Bolland.
