Did you really just post bulk totals and not per game stats?

Try again using per game averages

You are trying to say that his 06 season of 58 points was his second best season

Like I said, break it down into per game averages and you will see that his best 2 seasons are not when he shot the puck more.

Not sure what your talking about. The numbers are pretty clear… when he shoots more, he scores more. Here are his top 5 seasons in terms of shots:

1. 2008 – 227 shots for 25 goals / 66 assists = 91 points (career high in all four catagories)
2. 2006 – 203 shots for 25 goals / 33 assists = 58 points
3. 2007 – 185 shots for 24 goals / 58 assists = 82 points
4. 2009 – 149 shots for 19 goals / 50 assists = 69 points (only played 66 games)
5. 2010 – 117 shots for 19 goals / 57 assists = 76 points

Clearly the numbers show the more he shoots, the more he scores… which is what the whole point was. Its true that his 2006 season in which he had his second highest shot total resulted in a lot fewer points, but thats due to far fewer assists… not goals (and seems to be more a fluke then anything). His bet two seasons by far are the seasons in which he shot the 1st and 3rd most.

If you ignore the 2006 seasons drop in assists, the numbers clearly show more shots = better production.

Brian Boudreau = Bryan Murray

Nice lil regular season coach who needs to be replaced to take the the next step.

Murray won a ton of games for the Red Wings and Sens, but eventually players tune him out and out the door he goes.

Not to belabor the point, but has Getzlaf noticed that his two best statistical seasons in the NHL coincided with two career highs in shots? Boudreau might have a point.
