Theoretically (and hopefully), Letang, Neal, and Staal should all be back before the trade deadline. Besides Letang, the defense is now healthy for the time being. Fleury is playing very well I think but has been getting hung out to dry.

What I’m trying to say I guess is, the Pens should have the three I mentioned back before March, and should be in good position to still make the playoffs. And then there’s Crosby.

Needless to say, this is a supremely difficult situation for the Penguins to be in – having so much promise at the start of the year only to see injuries deconstruct the team. You have to imagine that it’s going to be hard for Shero to pull off any moves if that’s the direction the team goes; other GM’s will look at Pittsburgh’s situation and think that they can steepen the price tag on a deal – which can really tie Shero’s hands. At the same time, if he decides to sit pat and wait it out, does the team risk missing the playoffs (and significant revenue from the extra games)?

It’s basically the same question as last year – look forward to the future and let things be, or sacrifice some of that future to try and make some sort of run now? No matter which way you look at it, it’s a tough proposition all around.

Not a good yr to be a Pittsburgh sports fan, Steelers just lost a heartbreaker, Penguins have the best player in the league but his career seems like its in jeopardy not to mention all the other talent that is hurt, Pitt basketball seems more mediocre than ever….
Times like these u gotta have faith more than ever, with that I say
Go steelers/pens/panthers
(didnt mention the pirates because we actually expect them to lose like 100 games a yr)
