I think the NHL is most on the side of right in this one. We haven’t heard from the players since they’re speaking through the NHLPA, but we know 26 of the 30 the GMs are in favour. As with any change there are teams that downgrade (more travel for Florida and Tamps for instance) but it’s better for the league as a whole in the opinion of the GMs. This is at least in part about the CBA with Fehr posturing ahead of the CBA negotiations.
