Rupp does NOT stick his knee out immediately prior to the collision. There was no intent on the play, and really… it shouldn’t have even been a penelty, let alone a suspension.

As for the league doing favors for the Rangers since they are the top team, did you happen to watch the last 5 minutes of the Winter Classic?

I listened to the interview with Rupp (The player that injured Staal) and you could tell that there was no malicious intent what so ever. It was an unfortunate event that really sets us back but that is just how things work sometimes. No suspension needed, at all.
