honestly, I dont care what team you cheer for. How does anyone watch the video of what happened and say “Thornton started a line brawl”. At worst he started a fight with 1 player on Vancouver and got jumped. Who turned that into a line brawl? The 4 other Bruins on the ice were the last 4 players involved.

I usually crap all over the negative Boston media. But Ill take that anyday over homer media like that article from The Province.

The visitors played like the Harlem Globetrotters?
Having watched the game I’d say that Canucks destroyed the Bruins while on the power play, but Boston seemed to carry the play at even strength.
Case in point, Van scored all 4 goals on the PP and Boston scored all of their goals at even strength.
Well fought game. Bruins shot themselves in the foot. The Marchand hit was pretty selfish and for a guy thats got some skill, he should have known better than to do something like that. Cost his team the game and it’ll likely cost him a few games pay as well.

No salo didn’t have the puck, but he was coming in to check Marchand who was just about to get the puck, salo came in for the hit, Marchand ducks, salo goes ass over tea kettle, end story! Should be no suspension, IMO .

Uh, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara is Slovakian, David Krejci is Czech, Dennis Seidenberg is German, Tuukka Rask is Finnish, Patrice Bergeron, Daniel Paille and Benoit Pouliot are French Canadian and so is former Bruin great Ray Bourque.

The Canuck fans won’t comment on this hit…it was a great day in that 1 sport city. Ok west coast froggies…spin it. Your boy lined up Lucic….no penalty/suspension. That means nothing. The Leafs have been getting pumped by Boston for years. Boston is simply a better team and those scores reflect that fact, they say nothing about toughness.

Just because the Leafs don’t have guys like Lucic and Thornton running around brutalizing people doesn’t mean they’re not a tough team.

The old time hockey fan from Canada remembers when lil rats who did this type were dealt with right away on the ice.

We remember when this type of thing rarely happened because certain lil rats would not dare because they would take a pounding.

They would take a pounding everytime they met until the other team was satisfied.

This old time red wing fan remember how rare it was to see anyone pull this type when we had Gallant, Kocur and Probert.

It’s not what happened to us, it’s what happened that lil rats have no fear or being lil rats.

And the Toronto superstar….Kessel…the biggest finesse player in the league tallied……………..wait for it ………….1 assist in 4 games vs. Boston.
