honestly, I dont care what team you cheer for. How does anyone watch the video of what happened and say "Thornton started a line brawl". At worst he started a fight with 1 player on Vancouver and got jumped. Who turned that into a line brawl? The 4 other Bruins on the ice were the last 4 players involved.

I usually crap all over the negative Boston media. But Ill take that anyday over homer media like that article from The Province.

The visitors played like the Harlem Globetrotters?
Having watched the game I'd say that Canucks destroyed the Bruins while on the power play, but Boston seemed to carry the play at even strength.
Case in point, Van scored all 4 goals on the PP and Boston scored all of their goals at even strength.
Well fought game. Bruins shot themselves in the foot. The Marchand hit was pretty selfish and for a guy thats got some skill, he should have known better than to do something like that. Cost his team the game and it'll likely cost him a few games pay as well.

That means nothing. The Leafs have been getting pumped by Boston for years. Boston is simply a better team and those scores reflect that fact, they say nothing about toughness.

Just because the Leafs don't have guys like Lucic and Thornton running around brutalizing people doesn't mean they're not a tough team.

Are you a Bruins fan or just a troll?

Why are people so focused on the rule of law?

The only problem is, he should take his beating on the ice rather than off.

The old time hockey fan from Canada remembers when lil rats who did this type were dealt with right away on the ice.

We remember when this type of thing rarely happened because certain lil rats would not dare because they would take a pounding.

They would take a pounding everytime they met until the other team was satisfied.

This old time red wing fan remember how rare it was to see anyone pull this type when we had Gallant, Kocur and Probert.

It's not what happened to us, it's what happened that lil rats have no fear or being lil rats.

Your using the Leafs as an example of toughness.....are you kidding. This team is the poster child of finesse/soft.
Let's review Toronto vs Boston this season:
Boston 6-2
Boston 7-0
Boston 6-3
Boston 4-1

And the Toronto superstar....Kessel...the biggest finesse player in the league tallied.................wait for it .............1 assist in 4 games vs. Boston.

Seriously, you froggies need to turn off Hockey Night in Canada....because you are getting to comfortable with the weak European product of your home teams perform.

What's happened to the hockey fan in Canada? Turned into a bunch dainty, shrinking violets. Keep rooting for your favorite European stars! When did the pussification of an entire culture take hold. Watching Canucks and Maple Leaf hockey is like watching flag football....with the obligatory run to the Principal's office after each game. While Don Cherry begs for the return of oldtime hockey, these finesse teams beg for rule changes that fit their new European style. The lengths to which the local media here in Vancouver go to promote and "candy coat" virtually everything Canucks is beyond compare ...
And before someone comes in yammering about where he hit him and the legality of it.
Nobody playing cares about the legality of it.
Nobody playing is looking at slo-mo's to decide whether or not they are going to retaliate
Nobody playing likes this type of hit
Period

And some night he is going to do it to the wrong guy on the wrong team and a real tough guy is going to set him straight.
