Yah, oddly they were 2nd and 4th in points in the playoffs last year facing Chicago’s Keith and Seabrook; Nashville’s Weber and Suter, San Jose with Boyle, and the B’s defense. Voted best player in the league BY THE PLAYERS, so easily the best on his team, and a HART for each of them to go with it.

Yes, they got shutdown in the finals. A very beat up team which led to an anemic PP and no scoring. However to say every time they face a good tandem they fold. Safe to say the B’s defense was 3rd best of the four teams. Canucks had bodies going out with injuries each game.

arguably the best player in the NHL? The best players don’t disapeer against great competition. Everytime they face a good defensive tandem they fold. They get points bye feasting on the weaker opponents. He isn’t even the best player on his team, I would give that to kessler. A hard working 2 way center with heart.

I’d hope both teams would ignore the hype and media, and decide this is exactly what it is- a regular season game.

…that said, I’d be surprised if we don’t see the Canucks come out with something to prove. Remember Henrik getting upset about the impression that they’re not a tough team? This is a pretty good chance to shut up the naysayers by beating up on A) one of the most physical teams in the league, and B) the one that used that edge to beat you in the finals last year. Expect the Canucks to be hitting everything in a black jersey- and for the Bruins to gleefully return the favor. This could be a fun one.

i like Marchands comments.. it is just one game however, i bet if Boston had lost the cup he’d have something else to say. maybe.. maybe not.

regardless, only the fans and the media are hyping this game and on that note.. it should be a beauty!!

As a huge Canucks fan, this game proves nothing and I hope the players (B’s or Canucks) don’t try to prove anything. Winning or whatever may happen regardless of how positive (power play, physicality, you name it), WON’T win the cup or help their cause other than two points. It’s a non conference game.

That’s all that matters. Two points.
