Complete non-story. Sometimes I think the Wpg reporters emulate the Toronto & Philly ones – they tryto stir up unnecessary shit. The Jets took a chance on Fehr cuz’ they only needed to trade a bag of pucks for him. I’m sure he was told he’d have a chance to play on the 1st or 2nd line, but it wasn’t guaranteed. He’s coming off an injury & hasn’t playe well. With our top 6 forwards being a plesant surprise, the unexpected addition of Miettenin on a tough 3rd line Fehr needs to prove hes deserving of moving up & he hasn’t. Noel didn’t rip him – he was bein honest

I agree as well. I think some of the Winnipeg Reporters are actually auditioning for the National Enquirer – you know – making up stories.

I agree.. Most (not all) of those reporters for the Winnipeg papers are a bunch of HACKS anyway… I almost think they want to see the Jets fail so they can keep beating them down, I don’t know why they would want to make this a distraction for a team who has been playing very well recently?

I think the mention here is exactly why the Jets didn’t make Fehr available to the media. The coach wasn’t ‘ripping’ his play, he just said if he plays better he’ll get more ice time as he’s only been playing 4th line minutes since coming back from injury. But the Winnipeg Sun had nothing to write about so they tried to make it out to be a huge issue. No point making Fehr go answer a bunch of loaded questions on an overblown issue just because it’s a slow news day for sports in Winnipeg. Honestly, if it wasn’t for port reporting like the linked article, teams would be a lot more open to giving the media access to everyone but when reporters want to make a story out of nothing, the players have more important things to do. Good job by the Jets for not wasting Fehrs time, he’s got enough to deal with getting his game back together after a slow start.
