I think Clemmenson has had one bad game this year? and he was undefeated in regulation up until that game. so, theo being out, def hurts but not much more than any of the other injuries the team is battling. Will be another great shot for markstrom, im confident the rangers will have their work cut out for em trying to score on this kid, this time around. Not to mention, Panthers are going to be comin out swingin. Cant wait for this game tomorrow night.

I think the Panthers' next two games are on the road against the Rangers (not Islanders) and Devils, so looks like Markstrom will get thrown right into the fire.

Disagree completely about your addition by subtraction thought. Markstrom is not ready to be handed the reigns and actually would be served better in the AHL making consistant starts than the NHL where he could lose confidence, which is a goalie's best attribute (unless you are Rick Dipietro...)

And as a backup, always better to have a Vet than someone that is inexperienced. The Vet is more equipt to handle the volitile playing time and the kid can get some seasoning at lower levels.

The impact is going to be felt greater by the forwards than anything else. Weiss' line will have to play more defensively, which is trouble because they seem to generate about 70% of the offense... Guys like Garrison can't be so offensive minded without Theo back there. This is just a test to see how good of a team the Panthers really are... that's about it.

Theodore being gone hurts, but on the other hand, Markstrom's impressed so far. Honestly, if I were Tallon I'd be running him as backup over Clemmensen already, but this gives him a good window to prove that he deserves the backup job to Theodore long-term. This is an opportunity for them as much as a loss.
